Beja: Four years of suspended sentence for alcoholic FAP military.

Air Force officer who mortally ran over cyclist sentenced to 4 years in prison with suspended sentence.

The Air Force first sergeant who mortally hit a cyclist in Beja was sentenced this Friday to four years in prison with a suspended sentence for murder for gross negligence and omission of aid.

The accused was prevented from driving motor vehicles for the period of 2 year old.

The cyclist was run over by the arms gate of the Beja Air Base in June 2018. The man was picked up by a sergeant leaving the unit, left the accident site and accused, later, an alcohol rate higher than permitted by law.

Jorge Martin, 48 year old, Caixa Geral de Depósitos employee in Beja, was picked up by a civilian BMW van, driven by a Sergeant Air Force, that came out of the unit. The run over occurred after the cyclist made a U-turn, by the weapons port BA11. the military, resident in Faro, dragged Jorge Martinho for more than a hundred meters.
