The Parish Union of Santiago Major and St. John the Baptist promotes a further year “visits Seniors” and the first target is already chosen and will be the beach of Armacao de Pera.
As in previous years, the Parishes of Santiago Union of Major and St. John the Baptist (UFSMeSJB) and the Municipality of Beja, They are already working in the organization of visits to places or events, intended for senior citizens.
The first destination is already chosen and will be the beach of Armacao de Pera, on 26 June. Registration will be open from 3 June. The Parish Union of Santiago Major and St. John the Baptist let's call “Subscribe and come have fun!”
Maintenance and cleaning of public spaces
The rain and the sudden heat of April, accelerated the growth of herbs, a bit throughout the parish. These factors associated to the fact of not being allowed to use herbicides, They have contributed to the existence of increasingly weeds. This is a common and transversal reality all municipalities, contrarily, to what is speculated.
The UF justifies “It has every day a team of staff, that effort to try to combat the herbs. Intervention is manual, o que não nos permite ser tão céleres como gostarÃamos. The Parish Union of thinking about and well-being in the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits, It has available to its customers, totally free classes. These classes take place on Wednesdays, by 18:15, in Penedo Gordo and at 19.30, the premises of Blood Donors, in Social Housing.
